Julia Miles, Registered MBACP(Accred).
I have a postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Practice from the University of Oxford. I am a registered MBACP (Accred.) counsellor/psychotherapist and have been working as such for fifteen years.
I worked for 25 years both as a qualified social worker which included adoption, disability and generic family work and also as a probation officer. During this time I undertook a person centred counselling course before moving to psychodynamic training.
I have wide experience as an independent counsellor / psychotherapist with a range of clients who have presented with a variety of problems. I have worked as a counsellor in two men’s prisons, in a GP surgery, a psychiatric hospital, a women’s service, a foreign nationals’ counselling service in Greece, and for the Wantage Counselling Service.
For nearly nine years I worked as a counsellor with organisations specialising in the rehabilitation of drug and alcohol users. I retain a special interest and expertise in addictive behaviour of all kinds.
I am also contracted to the Police Firearms Officers Association.
I work to the BACP ethical standard and undertake regular supervision and ongoing professional development. I am fully insured.
